Resistance Books meeting on the classic book by Ivan Dzyuba, “Internationalism or Russification,” which studies the oppression of nationalities in the former USSR, in particular in relation to Ukraine. The book gives a background to the great Russian chauvinism and imperialism today.

The speakers introducing the discussion will be:

Bohdan Krawchenko is the former director of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the University of Alberta and wrote an introduction to one of the first editions of the book.

Yaroslav Kovalchuk is an editor of Commons, the Ukrainian left journal. He is a PhD student at the University of Alberta, specialising in the Soviet history of Western Ukraine.
