The Housing Secretary, Angela Rayner, has approved the construction of a data centre in London’s Brick Lane, despite opposition from local groups. The construction of data centres is increasing the cost of energy for households, fuelling an already burdensome energy crisis, and impacting the health of local communities.

Nijjoor Manush is organising campaigns against the construction of Data centres in Brick Lane, and is organising a panel talk on 8 August 2026 at Whitechapel Gallery, from 6-7pm.
