The fight back under a second Trump presidency – how do we resist?

Online forum Wednesday 13 November, 19:00 (London)

UPDATE: Trump has won a second US Presidential election. He has promised an authoritarian regime in which the social gains of the last decades are dismantled. Any hope of the US transitioning away from fossil capital has been wrecked for at least four years. Now is not the time for despair – it is the time to organise internationally to create a better world. Our statement on the outcome of the election

There appears to be little difference between the two main candidates, even though Harris has accused Trump of being a fascist, while Trump has accused her of being a Marxist. Harris has gone along with all the rotten neoliberal, warmongering and racist policies of the Biden administration. Trump has been whipping up racism, scapegoating migrants and deflecting anger onto “liberal elites” away from the real elites – the capitalists. The outcome of this election in the biggest imperialist country has consequences for all of us fighting for a better world.

What does the outcome of this election mean, and what does it reveal about politics in the USA? What role did Arab Americans and pro-Palestinian activists play in the election? What is Trump’s fascist movement, and how to resist it? What are the implications for Palestinians and Ukrainians?

Log-in to our meeting to hear socialists in the USA discuss these questions, and join in the discussion with

Dianne Feeley, editor of Against the Current,  member of Solidarity (US socialist organisation).
Luke Pretz, co-author of  Socialism: What It Is, Why We Need It and member of Solidarity.
Dan La Botz, co-editor of the socialist journal New Politics.
