The election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America is a major development for global politics. He is now in almost total control of the USA, the largest imperialist power. Trumpism is part of the global wave of far-right populists, authoritarians and semi-fascists taking power in countries around the world. This shift to the far-right has been caused by neoliberalism and the collapse in the post-war liberal consensus.
