Ukraine: lessons from history for today’s struggle

John-Paul Himka is professor emeritus in the Department of History and Classics at the University of Alberta, specialising in the history of Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine. His latest book is Ukrainian Nationalists and the Holocaust (2021). He is the author of “A brief history of Ukraine”, which is included in Ukraine: voices of resistance and solidarity.

This meeting will also be a memorial event for Marko Bojcun who died on 11 March 2023.    Speakers from Ukraine, and Bohdan Krawchenko and Mick Antoniw will talk about Marko’s life and work.
