The Global Sumud Flotilla, a coalition of dozens of civilian vessels that fights to break Israel’s illegal and genocidal blockade of aid for Palestinians in Gaza, was intercepted last night, 29 April, by the occupation forces, close to the Greek coast.
Ground control lost contact with our comrade Kelsey’s boat after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) disrupted their communications. The emergency protocol was activated, as 22 of the 57 boats were intercepted, and the people on board were kidnapped.
However, this morning, Kelsey’s boat was sighted! It has been confirmed that over half of the boats are still on their mission to Gaza, and Kelsey’s is among them!
This is the power of such a huge flotilla, the largest civilian maritime effort for Palestine in history: sending so many boats that the IOF can’t take down all of them.
Watch this space for updates and be ready to take action. We need all eyes on the flotilla. Other UK citizens were abducted by the IOF last night from international waters, 600 miles from Gaza – an unprecedented escalation.
There is a protest at the Greek embassy today at 6 pm in London, and at the Cascade steps in Bristol, at the same time.
What we are witnessing is expanded Israeli military control over the Mediterranean itself. No state has the right to claim, police, or occupy international waters.
