International Women’s Day in Manchester

Ian Parker captured powerful moments from the International Women's Day celebration held in Manchester's Oxford Street, just outside the headquarters of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. His stunning photographs beautifully showcase the inspiring women and their voices that rang out in support of gender equality.

The purpose of this demonstration was to target the GMCA due to increased police funding, and to highlight that the state is responsible for perpetrating violence against women. This was exemplified by the demonstration’s use of hundreds of rape alarms.
